Last night, Bacchus wanted to take his shoes and socks off in the living room. So I obliged, then went back to laying on the couch, tired from telling people what to do all day, and growing another human inside of me. I then asked him to put his socks and shoes in his room. He has a yellow mesh clothes hamper, in the shape of a duck, that hangs on his closet door, where we stuff all of his laundry. (I thought this would be an easy request. He loves to help by throwing away diapers in the "cash", and putting his sippy cups in the "ink".) So, I said, "Please put your socks in the duck!". I didn't think anymore about it.
Later, I was checking my email, while Drew ran a bath, I heard him say, "Oh, no! How did your shoes and socks get into the bathtub??" I forgot there were more "ducks" to consider! Luckily, the shoes floated, and didn't get too wet. Heh.

The Missouri River 340
So this is what someone looks like after paddling 340 miles down the Missouri River...doesn't that look fun? It's been a few weeks since the race ended, and Drew's body is slowly returning to normal. He took a quick 14 mile training run this afternoon, in the 93 degree heat, well, because he's crazy. He is looking forward to possibly participating in the "Gritty Fitty", which is a 50 mile race in Kansas on August 30th. Sometime, between now and then, grape crush will begin in earnest. Drew and the crew set a company record last week, bottling almost 25,000 gallons of wine. He was up and at work by 5:30 every morning, putting in almost 12 hour days. Good practice for upcoming crush!
We are looking forward to a visit from Uncle Steve and Aunt Delara sometime this week, who are visiting our folks before heading off for a much needed vacation in Europe. Maybe I'll have some new pictures of Bacchus to post!
